Data Economy Congress was ceremonially inaugurated by the Co-Chairmen of the Founding Board of the Congress: Mariusz Cholewa, President of the Management Board, Biuro Informacji Kredytowej; CEO, ACCIS, and Szymon Wałach, Vice President of the Management Board, InPost.
Why is this Congress different from others? First, we wanted to establish a platform so that it is possible to talk about Data Economy first of all from a cross-sectoral perspective (…).
We wanted to establish a platform to talk about the economy of data not only from a business potential perspective but also from the perspective of organizational challenges that companies and organizations are facing, from the standpoint of security, regulations, and ethics or social influences which speed up such changes. – said Szymon Wałach, Vice President of the Management Board, InPost.
During the inauguration debate, the experts touched upon the subject of the Future of the Data Economy, encompassing the issues regarding data in terms of strategic resources in business, the economy of the future, the influence of new technologies on the data economy, and the potential of data generated in the IoT. The next panel was devoted to data concerning the cross-sectoral cooperation of companies and public institutions. There were also shown examples of collaboration between companies and institutions representing various sectors of the economy, which cooperate in data exchange, data analysis, and the use of data. First, the experts presented ideas, concepts, and projects concerning widening cooperation and opening new databases, among others, the possibilities of public databases use. Then the experts focused on building analytical transformation in an organization.
During the Data-Driven Organization block, the participants learned some experience concerning using broadly-understood data in the internal processes of companies and institutions, both concerning organizational issues and optimization of actions and improvement of results. Of course, we haven’t forgotten about the discussions concerning the challenges of climate change, among others, the implementation of ESG strategies, the use of new technologies in projects aiming at sustainable development and limiting climate changes, the analysis and use of data, as well as Machine Learning and AI.
Simultaneously with the main session, a meeting of the CDOs and CIOs committee took place. The committee comprised policy-makers from the data analysis sector (e.g., From banking, power engineering, retail, production, pharmacy, and technological companies). The experts exchange their experiences, ideas, and comments concerning the development of the data economy.
On the second day of the Congress, they started with a debate on building trust in the contemporary data economy. Then, the speakers talked about crucial challenges for companies and public administration in this respect, examples of solutions based on data, which add value to the economy and society, the mechanics of open data, and its value for particular industries. Finally, the experts raised a question concerning the influence of Chat GPT on the commercial market.
The main subject of the next panel was digital identity and data analytics as a key to building better customer experience. The speakers analyzed the issues connected with the use of data and analyses in the process of creation and adjustment of products, examples of good practices and solutions used in the media sector concerning the digital identity and data analytics, perspectives, and development forecasts for the media market in terms of digital identity and data analytics. The two-day discussions finished with a debate on end-user perspective in terms of customer experience built thanks to data, accessibility, availability of data offered via applications, insight into data made available by client, and threats on the Internet.
